FreeBSD下字體安裝步驟詳解，之前使用的默認(rèn)字體不是太喜歡。 因?yàn)榇笮偷淖煮w顯得參差不齊，這時(shí)有一款自己喜歡的字體最好不過了。
所以需要我們手工加入字體時(shí)，F(xiàn)reeBSD下字體安裝步驟詳解，可采用如下兩種方式：

方法一、

添加Times Roman,Helvetica,Palatino等Type1字體，URW字體集合 (x11-fonts/urwfonts) 就包括了高質(zhì)量的 標(biāo)準(zhǔn) type1 字體。
因此安裝URW即可：

1.1安裝URW

# cd /usr/ports/x11-fonts/urwfonts
# make install clean

1.2 配置URW
需要在 X 服務(wù)器的配置文件 (/etc/X11/xorg.conf) 中增加下面的配置：

FontPath "/usr/local/lib/X11/fonts/URW/"

也可采用命令方式在當(dāng)前會(huì)話中執(zhí)行,以下內(nèi)容需要在X桌面的Terminal執(zhí)行才可以。

% xset fp+ /usr/local/lib/X11/fonts/URW
% xset fp rehash

2、安裝微軟雅黑、宋體等等中文字體即 TrueType® 字體
Xorg 已經(jīng)內(nèi)建了對(duì) TrueType® 字體的支持
2.1 配置文件
將下面這行添加到 /etc/X11/xorg.conf 文件的 "Module" 部分Load "freetype"
2.2為 TrueType® 字體創(chuàng)建一個(gè)目錄
比如， /usr/local/lib/X11/fonts/TrueType， 然后把所有的 TrueType® 字體復(fù)制到這個(gè)目錄。記住您不能直接從 Macintosh® 計(jì)算機(jī)中提取TrueType® 字體； 能被 X11 使用的必須是UNIX®/MS-DOS®/Windows® 格式的。
2.3 用 ttmkfdir 來創(chuàng)建 fonts.dir 文件， 以便讓X字體引擎知道您已經(jīng)安裝了這些新文件。
2.3.1 ttmkfdir 需要安裝，直接用pkg_add -r ttmkfdir就能裝上。

# cd /usr/local/lib/X11/fonts/TrueType
# ttmkfdir -o fonts.dir

3.4 把 TrueType® 字體目錄添加到字體路徑中
需要在 X 服務(wù)器的配置文件 (/etc/X11/xorg.conf) 中增加下面的配置：FontPath "/usr/local/lib/X11/fonts/TrueType"
如果要立即啟用請(qǐng)輸入：

% xset fp+ /usr/local/lib/X11/fonts/TrueType
% xset fp rehash

以上的命令操作，需要在X桌面的Terminal中執(zhí)行才可以。
現(xiàn)在 Netscape®,Gimp,StarOffice™ 和其他所有的 X 應(yīng)用程序 應(yīng)該可以認(rèn)出安裝的TrueType® 字體。一些很小的字體，但如果是在 Web 頁面上高分辨率顯示的文本。

# whereis wqy
wqy: /usr/ports/x11-fonts/wqy
# cd /usr/ports/x11-fonts/wqy
# make install clean

讓X系統(tǒng)啟動(dòng)時(shí)載入字體，編輯/etc/X11/xorg.conf 在Section "Files"里面加一行，F(xiàn)ontPath "/usr/local/lib/X11/fonts/wqy"像下面這樣
